About Mookambika Devi Temple :

The Kollur Mookambika Temple is located at Kollur in Kundapura taluk of, Udupi District in the state of Karnataka, India. The temple  is a Hindu temple and  dedicated to Mookambika Devi.  Mookambika Devi is Shakthi devi. The devi is worshipped as Maha Kali in the morning, Maha Lakshmi in the noon and Maha Saraswati  in the evening.

Chandi Stotra will be read on all the nine days.

Held during the month of March or April for Nine days.

The main Car Festival ( Maha Rathotsava) will be held on the 8th day.

Boat Festival ( Theppotsava) .

Ugadi:

Routine Poojas using Neem,

Panchanga Shravana.

Ashtabhandha Brahmakalashotsava:

Performed once in twelve years.

Chandika Homa:

Performed by about 7 Priests, by reading 700 verses and 700 hymns offering sweet pudding (Payasam) 700 times to the Agni. Every day the ‘Chandika Homa Seva’ is performed in the Temple

How to Reach Kollur:

By Bus :

Bus facility is available from most of the  major towns of karnatka. The Main Bus Stand of Kollur is around 500 Meters from the Temple. The nearest major towns are Kundapura and Udupi. Plan to reach these places then you can reach Kollur from these towns easily.

kollur to shimoga distance is 128 km

kollur to mangalore distance is 130 km

kollur to bangalore distance is : 460 km

kollur to murudeshwar distance is 60 km

By Train:

Kundapura and Byndoor Railway Stations(code-BYR) ) are about 32 Kms and 28 KMs respectively.

By Air :

Mangalore Airport is about 140 Kms from the Temple.

Kollur Mookambika Devi Temple Timings :

Morning 5 A.M to 1.30 PM

Noon 3.00 PM to 5.00 PM (Only “Darshan” )

Evening 5.00 PM to 9.00 PM (Except Special days)

Vidyarambam Pooja Timings :

Vidyarambam pooja is performed between 6:45am to 1:00 pm Daily.

Vidyaramba Kanike : Fees to be paid at mookamabika temple seva booking .

Go to saraswathi mandapam .

Poojari  will tell the mantra, hold your child’s hand and write a mantra on the plate having rice in it  as ” Om Hari Sri Ganapthye Namaha ” After that poojari will write a mantra with your golden ring on your Child’s Tongue.
